Michael Weiss got the better of Tyler Butterfield by 2:11 to win Ironman 70.3 Cozumel.
Weiss was clocked across the line in 3:47.14, with Butterfield clocking 3:49.25 and Alan Carrillo Avila was third in 3:52.33.
Butterfield was 6th out of the water with a time of 22.16, he was 56 seconds behind the leader Martin Bedirian, but by the 9.5km mark on the Bike Course Butterfield had moved up to 2nd 2 seconds behind the leader Ruedi Wild.
At the conclusion of the 56-Mile Bike Course, Butterfield was 5thsome 5:09 behind Weiss, Butterfield then made his way through the field, but could not get any closer to Weiss.
