The Dominican Republic defeated Bermuda 2 – 0 to decide first place in Group C of League B, as the Road to W Gold Cup tournament reached its conclusion.
The top two teams in Group C faced off in a direct matchup to decide the playoff berth on the final matchday.
Alyssa Oviedo broke free for the opening goal in the 17th minute, driving into the box and providing a powerful shot to bounce it off the left post for the lead.
Kathrynn Gonzalez had shot on goal in the 30th minute but her free kick attempt was denied by Bermuda goalkeeper Zakhari Turner.
Lucia Marte was denied in the 44th minute after picking up the ball off a missed header, driving into the box with a powerful attempt that was punched out Turner.
Mia Asenjo was denied in the 47th minute as Turner was alert for the save early in the second half. But Asenjo broke through in the 86th minute with a powerful hit to the left netting to secure the three points.
