Bermudian driver Kiwon Waldron continued his US harness racing campaign at Hawthorne Race Course in Chicago with a mixed bag of results across three races.
Waldron kicked off the evening with a bang, piloting Rockin The Jackpot to victory in the Race 1 Pace Class. The pair battled neck and neck to the wire, ultimately securing a thrilling photo finish win in a time of 1:56&2.
However, fortunes took a turn in Race 2. Taking the reins of Hs Remington in the Trot Class, Waldron and his charge couldn't replicate the earlier success, finishing in 6th place with a time of 2:00&4.
The Bermudian reinsman rounded off his night in Race 7, another Pace Class event. This time partnering with Betrothed, Waldron steered the horse to a respectable 4th place finish in 1:58&2.
While not every race yielded a top spot on the podium, Waldron's opening race victory demonstrated his skill and determination. Harness racing fans will be eager to see how the young driver performs as his US campaign continues.
