Derosa Competes in Trojan Invitational  (TRACK AND FIELD)

Tiarra Derosa was one who placed in the top-5 of the Virginia State University Trojan Invitational Meet representing Shaw University.

Sophomore Derosa finished fifth with a top toss of 12.32m in the Women’s Shot Put.

Derosa would also finish 4th in the Women's Discus Finals with a top toss of 44.38m.

The stage was set, the Bedwas pitch was looking in pristine condition and warm April sunshine, the perfect conditions for fast, running rugby. Few however, would have predicted the fourteen Try festival served up by these two local rivals in what was the most entertaining game seen at the Bridgefield this season.

The Bermuda Softball Association’s League season continued at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond with a triple-header that saw 68 runs cross the plate.

The Sea Venture Mini Me's defeated the Athene Warriors 13 – 5, the PHC Zebras went down 8 – 7 to the Angels, while the Hardknockz edged the Outback Skylights 18 – 17.

Kirsten Saltus and her Catawba Women’s Tennis teammates wrapped up their seasons with a non-conference 7 – 2 win over Shaw University.

Playing in the number six Singles spot Saltus defeated Teodora Jovanovic in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.

Saltus teamed up with Emily Corcoran in the number three Doubles position and they defeated Simbiat Aleem and Helena Fekete 8-3.

In Freisenbruch-Meyer Continental Bowling League action at the Warwick Lanes saw the Spicenix defeat the Pinjammers 22 – 8, the Nifty Rollers defeated the Bermuda Pest Control 27 – 3, the Cubs defeated Quickie Lickie Laundry 16 – 14, while The Invaders defeated the Under Dawgs 20 – 10 and the Odd Balls defeated New Hope 20 – 10.

The matter between the Bermuda Government and Dr. Freddie Evans has been settled without recourse to a costly trial. By mutual agreement, the terms of the settlement are confidential. Dr. Evans will take up a new post in the Department of Youth, Sports and Recreation. Dr. Evans looks forward to utilizing his skill set to further contribute to the youth of Bermuda.
