Oliver Betschart battled challenging conditions and a determined field to successfully defend his Gosling's Moongate Tour Championship title at a rain-soaked Port Royal Golf Course.
Betschart, who started the final round one shot off the lead, carded an impressive 2-under par 69 to finish the tournament at even par. His composed performance in difficult weather conditions proved decisive, as he held off a late charge from Kenny Leseur.
Leseur, who shot a level-par 71 in the final round, finished in second place at 3-over par. Despite a valiant effort, he couldn't quite catch Betschart, who showcased his championship pedigree with a clutch performance.
Overnight leader Nick Jones struggled in the wet conditions, carding a 6-over par 77 to finish in third place at 7-over. Dwayne Pearman finished a further two strokes back in fourth after a second-round 77, while Camiko Smith rounded out the top five with consecutive rounds of 5-over par 76.
Betschart's victory is a testament to his resilience and skill. He navigated the challenging Port Royal layout with composure, demonstrating his ability to adapt to demanding conditions. This win solidifies his position as one of Bermuda's leading golfers and sets the stage for another exciting season ahead.
