Bermuda athletes began competing in the 14th Pan American Wushu Championships & 1st Pan American Sanda Open Tournament at the Santa Clara Convention center, Santa Clara, California.
In the Pan American Sanda Open Tournament, Tristan Robinson defeated Yevin Rathnayaka from Canada 2-0, Che Durham went down 2-0 to Hector Torres from Mexico, while Enzi Johnston went down 2-1 to Jamilly Pereira Soares from Brazil.
Cole Durham went down 2-1 to Abdiel Ferdinand-Hyacienth from Canada, Robinson won his second match of the tournament 2- over Henry Walker from USA, while Che Beane defeated Hector Vazquez from Mexico 2-0.
Tristan Burgess went down 2-0 to Santiago Anguiano from Mexico, Durham went down 2-0 to Andrew Tate from USA, Krista Dyer defeated Yaretzi Lopez Mauricio from USA 2-0.
Muryah Swan defeated Riley Toppins from USA 2-0, Geraldine Sidders went down to Yaretzi Lopez Mauricio from USA 2-0, Ryan Symonds went down 2-0 to Samantha Knight from USA, while Beane would fall 2-0 to Andrew Bowen-Albo from USA.
Kaelin Cox finished in 10th place in the Optional Southern Fist with a score of 8.096. Cox suffering from a knee injury withdrew from Southern Broadsword and Staff.
Errin Cann finished in 17th place in the 12-14 Year Old Group B Female Longfist Division.
