The Bermuda Golf Associations Round 1 of the 2016 Bermuda Four-Ball Championships took place at the Tuckers Point Golf Course.
The team of Mark Phillips and Damian Palanyandi lead the Men’s Championship by 3 strokes after opening with a 3-under par round of 67. Defending champions Jarryd Dillas and Will Haddrell lie in second place after an even-par 70 and will join Phillips and Palanyandi in the final pairing on Day Two. Kyle Gibbons and Ben Hodge are a further two strokes back in third place.
Ebonie Burgess and Elizabeth Parsons will take a commanding 8 shot lead into the final round of the Ladies Championship after opening with 69. Their nearest challengers are the team of Tracy Burgess and Katrin Burnie who finished with a first round 77, in third place is Tracy Nash and Carol Jones who shot 79.
The final round promises to be a challenge for all competitors as the weather forecast is calling for intermittent showers and increased winds into the afternoon, which should provide an exciting conclusion to the 2015 Bermuda Four-Ball Championships.
