Bermudian harness driver Kiwon Waldron showcased his endurance and versatility at Harrah’s Hoosier Park this week, navigating a grueling schedule that saw him compete from the early morning qualifiers through to the high-stakes afternoon main races.
The marathon day began in the Trot Class qualifiers, where Waldron took the bike of Johnny Broad in the third race of the morning. In a competitive field, the pair delivered a solid performance to finish fourth, stopping the clock at a respectable 1:57&4.
However, the drama intensified as the action shifted to the main card in the afternoon. In the second race of the day, a Pace Class event, Waldron found himself involved in one of the tightest finishes of the meet. Steering Tellit Candy, Waldron crossed the wire in a dead heat for the lead, forcing the judges to review the photo finish. After a lengthy deliberation, the victory was awarded to Love Story, driven by Jordan Ross, with both horses sharing an identical time of 1:56&3.
Waldron returned to the track for the sixth race on the card, once again competing in the Trot Class. Driving Hawt Yoga, he managed to secure a podium finish, navigating a crowded stretch to claim third place with a time of 1:58&4.
While the elusive victory remained just out of reach on this occasion, Waldron’s ability to remain competitive across multiple classes and sessions continues to solidify his reputation as one of the most consistent drivers currently campaigning at the Indiana track.
