The National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street witnessed another exciting day of harness pony racing, with near-record-breaking performances highlighting the continued action.
Kirista Rabain delivered a stunning drive with Red October in Heat One of the 1:04/0 & Faster Time Bar Class. Her blistering time of 1:01&4 was just fractions of a second shy of the existing track record of 1:01&1, showcasing the impressive speed and skill on display.
Heat Two provided a dramatic finish in the 1:04&1-1:05&1 Time Bar Class. Jashun Young, driving Holy Grail, took the win with a time of 1:05&3. The race for second place was so close that a photo finish was required. The judge ultimately awarded second to Teshi Zuill, driving Gold-N-Glory, who clocked a time of 1:05&4. Rabain, this time driving Gold Rush, also finished with a time of 1:05&4 but was placed third after the photo finish analysis.
The close competition and impressive times demonstrate the high level of racing in this year's harness pony season.
