Harness Pony Racing made a thrilling return under the lights at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street, with a night filled with close finishes and exciting performances.
The evening saw four races decided by photo finishes, adding to the drama and excitement. Kirsta Rabain emerged as the star of the show, securing a triple victory. She first triumphed in the 1:08&1 – 1:10&3 Time Bar Class with Gold Rush, capturing Heat 9 in a photo finish. Rabain then returned to the winner's circle in Heat 11, this time guiding Red October to victory in the 1:06&2 – 1:08&0 Time Bar Class which was also a photo finish.
The final race of the night, the 1:04&0 & Faster Time Bar Class, provided a breathtaking finish. Teshi Zuill, driving SomeGoldSomeWhere, crossed the line in a winning time of 1:04&0. However, the drama didn't end there, as Candyce Martins and Smart Machine finished with the exact same time, resulting in a dead heat for second place. Maurice Raynor and Rockeyed Optimist were just a nose behind, clocking in at 1:04&1.
The return of harness pony racing under the lights proved to be a resounding success, with thrilling competition and nail-biting finishes that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
