Bermuda Riders Begin Competing at Grand Caraibe

The 2024-2025 Grand Caraibe International Jumping Competition commenced in Suriname with a thrilling Speed Class, featuring 40 riders representing a diverse range of nations, including the host country, Bahamas, Antigua, Cayman Islands, Martinique, Jamaica, Guadeloupe, and Bermuda.

Bermuda's Emma Kempe, partnered with Noble, in the 0.75m - 0.85 Division delivered a strong performance, finishing 13th overall. Kempe navigated the challenging course with precision, achieving a clear first round in a time of 42.33 seconds. She continued her impressive form in the second round, again riding clear and improving her time to 39.97 seconds.

Sierra Wolffe, representing Bermuda alongside Jesalza, also in the 0.75m - 0.85 Division demonstrated her equestrian skills. Wolffe completed a clear first round in a time of 39.28 seconds, showcasing her speed and control. In the second round, the pair unfortunately incurred 8 penalty fault points, resulting in a final time of 41.74 seconds and a 28th place finish.

Taking to the course for the 0.95m - 1.05m Division saw Kayla Bardgett and Check Mate finish 8th with a First Round Clear Round time of 43.25, but in the Second Round they had Four penalty Fauklt Points and a time of 34.52.

Kimoy Cruickshank in the 20 competitor 0.95m - 1.05m Division finished 19th, riding Mufasa , they had a First Round time of 69.96 and they had 16 Penalty Fault points.

Raishun Burch was in action in the 1.15m - 1.20m Division riding Herocou finished 6th , they had a Clear First Round time of 53.33, but then he clocked 46.19 in their Second Round, but they also had 13 Penalty Fault Points.

The Grand Caraibe International Jumping Competition continues with further events, providing a platform for these talented riders to showcase their abilities on the international stage.
