The 85th annual Agricultural Exhibition has returned to the Botanical Gardens with a flourish, as Bermuda’s equestrian community delivered a series of standout performances over the first two days of competition. Against the backdrop of one of the island's most cherished traditions, the main ring became a showcase for precision, speed, and horsemanship.
Thursday’s session was headlined by the crowning of the Best Riding Horse in Show. Michael Rodrigues continued his impressive form, guiding Rambo to the championship title after a commanding display of rhythm and presence. Sophie Greenway and Chevy ZG followed closely to secure the reserve championship in a tightly contested division.
As the action moved into Friday, the focus shifted to the high-energy Parade Horses and Ponies. Harley Greenslade took top honours with Random Raider, holding off a strong challenge from Domico Watson and Fist Full of Thunder. Courtney Sims rounded out the top three aboard Mr. Mano, delighting the crowds with a spirited performance.
The jumping events reached a crescendo with the 1.15m Horse Jumping class. Abby Bardgett produced a masterclass in tactical riding, piloting Causing Chaos to a clinical victory. Michael Rodrigues made his second podium appearance of the week, taking second place with Acocetto HS, while Philip Correia and Poker Face secured third in a session that tested the agility of both horse and rider.
In the equitation ring, the adults proved they were equally adept at meeting the technical demands of the judges. Christina Davis led the way in the Adult Equitation class, delivering a flawless round aboard Time Flies to claim first place. Gemma Carreiro took second with Martini on the Rocks, while Nina Wehmeyer and Quality Time finished in third to complete a day of high-calibre competition in Paget.
