Adam Schenk IslandStats.com The second and third rounds of the 2025 Butterfield Bermuda Championship were completed today at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, setting the stage for a dramatic Final Round Fueled by Rubis on Sunday. The action resumed early this morning after play was suspended due to darkness at 5:27 PM on Friday night with six players remaining on the course. The third round began at 8:20 AM after 70 players made the cut at an even par.
The top of the leaderboard is tightly contested, with Adam Schenk and Braden Thornberry sharing the lead at 12-under par, 201. Schenk delivered a strong third round 67, managing to par the front nine before carding four crucial birdies on the back. Thornberry carded a 69, securing three birdies and three bogeys before sinking an eagle on the 17th hole to join Schenk at the top.
Immediately behind the leaders, there is a four-way tie for second place. Takumi Kanaya, Adam Hadwin, Chandler Phillips, and Max McGreevy are all just one stroke back at 11-under par, 202. Two strokes back of the lead, at 10-under par, 203, is Rikuya Hoshino.
Historical precedent suggests the lead is far from safe; the leader after Round Three has gone on to win the Butterfield Bermuda Championship just twice in the previous six tournaments, with those champions, Seamus Power (2022) and Rafael Campos (2024), both being co-leaders entering the final round. Former champion Seamus Power remains in contention at 9-under par, 204, after posting a third round 67, while 2023 Champion Camilo Villegas finished at 4-under par, 209. Defending Champion Rafael Campos missed the cut at 1-over par.
The Final Round Fueled by Rubis will begin early on Sunday, with gates opening to the public at 6:45 AM and the first tee time scheduled for 7:15 AM.
