Logan Watson-Brown brought the curtain down on Bermuda's participation at the World Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest with a solid performance in the Women's 200m Freestyle.
Competing in Heat Two, Watson-Brown finished sixth with a time of 2:04.48, placing her 31st overall in a highly competitive field.
Reflecting on her time at the championships, Watson-Brown told www.islandstats.com, "My time here at worlds has been amazing. I have loved every second of it all. The atmosphere in the arena and watching multiple world records being set was incredible. Being able to watch some of the top swimmers race in person I have loved and even being in the call room with such big names in the swim community was something I’ll remember forever.”
She also expressed satisfaction with her performances in the pool, “I felt good in both of my races. I trusted my training and everything else I’ve done to prepare for this meet while trying to continue to enjoy the experience. To start the week off with my 100m Backstroke and have a good race really built my confidence for the 200m Freestyle this morning. I came into this meet telling myself no matter how I do I’ll be happy with the results because I have reached a life long goal of mine.”
Watson-Brown's participation marked the end of Bermuda's involvement in the championships, which also saw strong performances from Elijah Daley and Sam Williamson. All three swimmers gained valuable experience competing against the world's best, representing Bermuda with pride on the international stage.
This experience will undoubtedly serve as a springboard for their future swimming endeavors, and Bermuda will be eagerly watching their progress as they continue to make their mark in the world of aquatics.
