Tyrell Burgess
Burgess is one of 40 players invited by Paul Dalglish, the 32-year-old son of the former Scotland and Liverpool striker Kenny Dalgish for the Tampa Bay Rowdies final invitation-only player combine.
Daglish is set to follow his father's footsteps, this time as a manager after he was appointed head coach of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, who have been reformed after a 17-year absence and will play in the second tier of the U.S. leagues next season.
The Rowdies final invitation-only player combine began Today Jan. 18th at Ed Radice Sports Complex. The three day combine which is the last of three Rowdies combines building toward the 2010 inaugural team roster concludes today.
Burgess who scored a goal that back on August 1st that made the ESPN Top 10 Plays of the Day that was later voted the 5th best goal of Top 11 Goals of 2009 for the Vancouver White Caps was released by the team on December 4th 2009.
Reggie LambeTamás Priskin and Lee Martin scored as
Lambe and his Ipswich Town Reserve teammates Blues drew 2-2 with Southend at Playford Road.
Town started the game brightly and in the first 15 minutes, with Martin and
Lambe both having shots saved, while Priskin also went close.
In the 21st minute Priskin broke the deadlock when he headed home a Martin cross.
Southend bounced back to score twice taking a 2 – 1 lead, and in the 84th minute, with Ipswich keeping the visitors under pressure, Martin was bundled over inside the area and converted the spot kick himself.
