Argentina stood tall and put in a display of toughness in earning the 2017 World Rugby Classic title at the National Sports Center.
New Zealand failed to capitalize with the strong wind at their back in the first half as they and Argentina went to the break scoreless.
Bernardo Stortoni scored a Try for Argentina in the 38th minute after reading a pass forcing an interception and scored, but the Conversion was missed leaving the score 5 - 0.
Argentina doubled the lead when Antonio Ahualli scored a Try and Federico Serra kicked the Conversion to extend the Argentina lead to 12 - 0.
With five minutes remaining Serra kicked a Penalty to increase the Argentina lead to 15 - 0.
Daniel Gazappo scored a Try for New Zealand in the final minute making it 15 - 5, leaving Argentina to lift the trophy for the first time in 3 Years.
Lions are the Classic Plate Champions
Classic Lions 33 South Africa 5
The Classic Lions took the lead 3 minutes into this Plate Final when Richard Carter went over for a Try, but the Conversion was missed.
In the 23rd minute Carter doubled the Lions lead from a good buildup and Ceri Sweeney kicked the Conversion to make it 12 - 0.
Five minutes later South Africa would get on the board with a Try from Hennie Daniller but the Conversion was missed leaving the score at 12 - 5.
Three minutes into the second half and Sweeney would go over for a Try, he would kick the Conversion to extend the Classic Lions lead to 19 - 5.
Gareth Bowen would get in on the scoring act for the Classic Lions in the 52nd minutes and Sweeney would add the Conversion to make it 26 - 5 to the Classic Lions.
Carter would get his third Try of the game going over in the 57th minutes and Sweeney would once again add the Conversion to make the score 33 - 5.
