Smith finished 1st in the Women’s 55 – 59 Age Group Division booking her ticket to Spain, she was the 6th female overall to finish, and she was the 77th competitive to cross the line, she clocked an overall time of 5:10:48.
Smith clocked 32:47 on the Swim, 2:41:41 on the Bike, before clocking 1:48:37 on the Run.
Olander competing in the Women’s 30 – 34 Age Group Division finished 6th, she was the 32nd female to cross the line and was 226th overall clocking a time of 5:56:37.
Olander completed the Swim in a time of 38:48, she would then clock 2:54:59 on the Bike, before closing out with a time of 2:10:55 on the Run.
Olander said, “I still can’t believe I did it. The race was just a tiny fraction of the experience…In the past 1.5 years, I’ve learned how to Mountain Bike, Cycle, and Swim (properly), not to mention meeting all the incredible people that I now have in my life because of these sports.
I couldn’t have done it without the amazing team of people who supported me over the past year. They pushed me through the setbacks and encouraged me to keep chugging along.”
