A dramatic end to the World Cup race in Chile saw Gwen Jorgensen run down the field to earn the fourth Gold of the season. Gina Sereno was awarded Silver and Vicky Holland ended the season with World Cup Bronze.
The first two women who crossed the finish line -Katie Zaferes and Teresa Zimovjanova along with two other athletes were disqualified due to taking the wrong turn on the run course.
Erica Hawley covered the 750m Swim, 18.5km Bike and 5km Run, in a time of 58:38, to cross the line in 6th place.
Meanwhile, Manoel Messias had the decisive kick to score Gold at the Vina del Mar World Cup in the Men’s race, with his teammate and golden boy of the Pan American Games Miguel Hidalgo ending his superb season with World Cup Silver in Chile and Aram Michell Penaflor pushes until the end to earn Bronze.
Tyler Smith finished 21st clocking a time of 51:56.
