Following the recent success of Flora Duffy and Karen Smith in Mexico, six Bermuda Triathletes competed in the Atlantic City Ironman 70.3.
Jonny Betts competing in the Men’s 45 - 49 Age Group was the top finisher from the group, he was 21st in his Age Group and 117th overall with a time of 4:56:03. Betts clocked 23:06 on the Swim, before recording a time of 2:31:39 on the Bike Course and then clocked 1:57:03 on the Run Course.
Next to cross the line was Karl Wilson competing in the Men’s 35 - 39 Age Group Division, Wilson clocked a time of 4:57:41 finishing 21st in the Division and 126th overall. Wilson came out of the water with a time of 26:57, before clocking 2:31:23 on the Bike Course and 1:54:09 on the Run Course.
An overall time of 4:58:07 saw Alec Shepherd finish 25th in the Men’s 45 - 49 Age Group and 133rd overall, Shepherd clocked a Swim time of 24:33, before clocking 2:30:21 on the Bike Course and then closed out with a time of 1:56:36 on the Run Course.
In the Men’s 50 - 54 Age Group Division Tim Palmer finished 20th and 267th overall with a time of 5:18:10. Palmer recorded a time of 31:07 on the Swim, 2:40:26 on the Bike Course and 1:58:51 on the Run Course.
Ian Henderson’s time of 6:09:54 saw him finish 90th in the Men’s 30 - 34 Age Group Division and 848th overall. Henderson clocked 21:09 on the Swim, 2:47:42 on the Bike and 2:53:41 on the Run Course.
In the Men’s 35 - 39 Age Group Division Ben Wright finished 137th and 1,206th overall stopping the clock with a time of 6:37:26. Wright clocked 39:06 on the Swim, 3:11:46 on the Bike Course and 2:39:40 on the Run Course.
