UPDATED;Bermudian Archers Jaydon Roberts and Camerin Pickering faced stiff competition in the elimination rounds of the 2025 Lancaster Archery Classic.
Having qualified for the head-to-head stage on day two, both archers were eager to make their mark against a world-class field.
Roberts faced a daunting challenge in the first round, drawing world number one Brady Ellison. Despite a valiant effort, Roberts fell to a 125-110 defeat against the formidable American.
Pickering, meanwhile, produced a stunning upset in his opening match. He edged out ninth-ranked Jack Williams in a thrilling encounter, winning 125-123 to secure his place in the second round.
In the second round, Pickering faced Jacob Robinson in another nail-biting contest. Both archers finished with a score of 121, forcing a countback to determine the winner. Unfortunately for Pickering, Robinson progressed by virtue of having more X's (arrows hitting the centre ring).
Despite their elimination, both Roberts and Pickering can be proud of their performances at the Lancaster Classic. Pickering's victory over Williams, in particular, highlights the growing strength of Bermudian archery on the international stage.

Roberts, fresh from competing at the Lancaster Classic, continued his impressive form by setting a new under-21 national record in the Recurve Junior Male Division. His score of 580 puts him in pole position heading into the final day of competition.
Smith, also returning from the Lancaster Classic, currently sits in 8th place in the Recurve Junior Female Division with a score of 429.
In the Recurve Cadet Female Division, Selley ended the day in 11th place with a score of 508, demonstrating her potential as a rising star in Bermudian archery.
Fraser, competing in the Recurve Bowman Male Division, finished the day in 10th place with a score of 411.
With one round of shooting remaining, all four archers will be aiming to climb the leaderboard and secure strong finishes at this important youth tournament. Roberts, in particular, will be hoping to convert his record-breaking performance into a medal-winning position.
