WADA's Play True Day 2024 will be held on April 19th to raise awareness of clean sport. WADA urges everyone to take part in supporting integrity in sport through anti-doping efforts.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of WADA's 'Play True Day' campaign, which grew out of an educational conference hosted by WADA in South America. Last year, the campaign reached a potential global audience of 161 million through social media, with nearly 160,000 social media interactions.
WADA President Witold Banka said, "WADA is doubly proud to be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Born out of the urgency to address the problem of doping in sport, the Agency's creation in 1999 activated the global collaborative movement for doping-free sport.
"The development of the global anti-doping system has been and will continue to be, a true team effort. We have come a long way together and we must go further to raise the game for athletes around the world, so please join us on Play True Day to celebrate '25 years as one Play True team'!
A day after the World Anti-Doping Agency released its 2022 Testing Figures Report, the agency has launched a campaign to involve everyone who contributes to clean sport. WADA has created the hashtag #OnePlayTrueTeam for social media and users can create their teams by posting the names of those who support and inspire them to Play True.
WADA is providing branded visuals in multiple languages (English, French, and Spanish) for participants to share their #OnePlayTrueTeam content, including branded frames, #OnePlayTrueTeam emblems, profile picture filters, profile icons for organizations' social media, and various GIFs for use on Instagram.
The World Anti-Doping Agency has developed a comprehensive toolkit to help participants navigate the various aspects of this year's Play True Day campaign. The toolkit can be downloaded from the WADA website.
