KENNI THOMPSON

Kenni Thompson and her 16th place RCD Espanyol Ladies teammates went down 1 – 0 to 10th place Sevilla in the Spanish Female Premier Division.

Playing in front of a crowd of 500 spectators, Thompson and her teammates were home at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Thompson was replaced in the 58th minute, with the lone goal of the game coming in the 86th minute when Ana Franco scored for Sevilla.

NATHAN TROTT

Nathan Trott and his AFC Wimbledon teammates were knocked out of the London Senior Cup after a penalty shoot-out at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

AFC Wimbledon had appeared to be heading into the next round after an impressive second-half turnaround with Finlay Macnab putting his side 2-1 up. However, Brentford hit back with a late equalizer four minutes from time, before winning it 5-4 on penalties.

In the penalty shoot-out Christian Tue Jensen, Jaako Oksanen, Dom Thompson, Aaron Pressley, and Dru Yearwood scored for Brentford. Finlay Macnab, Nesta Guinness-Walker, Huseyin Biler, and Isaac Olaniyan all scored for Wimbledon, but Zach Robinson fired his spot-kick over from 12 yards. It was unfortunate that this proved decisive as Robinson's second-half introduction had sparked Wimbledon's fightback.

NAHKI WELLS

Famara Diédhiou's late goal wasn't enough to snatch a result for Nahki Wells and his Bristol City teammates at the John Smith's Stadium, after goals from Chris Willock and Karlan Grant put Huddersfield Town on course for the home win.

Willock scored in the 39th minute when he cut in off the right and Grant made it a double blow from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute.

Famara Diédhiou pulled a goal back for Bristol City in the 87th minute but it was too late for them to salvage anything from the game in Yorkshire.

JONTE SMITH

Jonte Smith’s Cheltenham Town teammates secured a club record sixth straight Football League home win with a 2-1 victory over fellow promotion contenders Northampton Town.
