Members of the Bermuda Olympic Association are attending the first Regional SportAccord Pan America Convention in Fort Lauderdale.
The Regional SportAccord Pan America was announced earlier this year as a part of a drive to gather event organizers, Governing Bodies and other influential figures in Sporting Politics in a localized setting.
Several topics familiar to SportAccord, took place with a keynote address from Association of Summer Olympic International Federations Executive Director Andrew Ryan which focused on “The Changing Landscape of the International Sports World”.
A panel discussion was held on the topic, which was followed by the Regional theme which Panam Sports Secretary General Ivar Sisniega presented on the “New Vision of International Sports in the Americas”.
At the conclusion of the Convention s, the fourth edition of the Americas Best Practices Symposium, organized by Panam Sports and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee will be held.
The Symposium will take place on December 13th and 14th, with Sport Leaders from 41 Countries throughout the continent expected to be present.
The Symposium also aims to strengthen the bonds between Sport Bodies and Government Leaders, which Panam Sports claims is critical for the future success of sport in the Americas.
The inaugural Panam Sports Gala will also be held , Awards will be presented to the Best Male and Female Athletes, as well as the Best Men’s and Women’s Teams.
Next generation awards for Athletes Under the age of 20 will also be presented, along with the Best Coach.
