Smith's Concussion Essay is Published

Leah Smith attended Somersfield Academy before joining IMG Academy in Bradenton Florida, where she won numerous Soccer and Academic Awards. Smith also won the Denton Hurdle Award in 2013 and in 2016 she won the National Sport Award for Women’s Soccer.

In 2017 Smith was the recipient of the Robert Clements Chubb formerly ACE Ltd. full Academic Scholarship to attend New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business to study Actuarial Science and to date Leah has achieved a 3.6 Cumulative GPA.

Smith was also recruited to NYU's Women's Soccer team, but having suffered from more than one concussion just prior to her first season, Smith only played a few games before she, after the prompting of many doctors, determined that it would be best to "hang up her boots", at least for NCAA soccer.

Recently Smith’s sport pertinent essay "Concluding Concussions” was featured in a NYU Stern publication.

Smith’s story addressed to putting “An End to Head Trauma in Soccer", the essay was selected amongst the top 10 essays from her entire NYU Stern freshman entry class, to be published!!
