The Bermuda Basketball Association (BBA) recently informed the Bermuda Island Games Association (BIGA) that it would not be submitting a Men or Women's Basketball team to participate in the 2017 Natwest Island Games.
The newly formed BBA Executive Committee cited the BBA's current financial position as one of the reasons.
Also, there was always a possibility of the Island Games dates clashing with the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championships.
Both tournaments are normally held in late June/early July.
