Bermuda Under 17 Fall Twice Again in Canada

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Basketball Association’s Under-17 Men's National Select continued competing in Newmarket, Ontario in Canada.

However the day did not bode well for Bermuda. A number of key players were unavailable due to a host of unfortunate injuries forcing the coaching staff to reshuffle possible starting lineups.

Team Gators dominated the offensive and defensive rebounds giving them extra shot attempts and also putting players in foul trouble. Bermuda tried to counter but the constant defensive pressure forced numerous turnovers and led to easy baskets for the other team.

Final score: Gators - 87 Bermuda - 41

Player of the game was Jake Hines who scored all of his 11 points in the last 4 minutes of the game. Honorable mention Quinton Husband for his relentless hustle on defense.
Bermuda then showed much better effort and a willingness to carry out the coaching staff's game plan. Unfortunately, being undermanned at guard forced players to be put in positions they were not comfortable with. This led to a number of turnovers which the other team turned into easy points. There wasn't much difference in the second half except for the fact that the emphasis was on playing better team defence and reducing the amount of unforced turnovers.

Final Score - Bermuda 28 - Alpha High Performance 52

Player of the game: Quinton Husband. Honorable mention: Jacinto Saints (9 points) & DeNash Davis - defensive boards and 2 blocks.
