Bermuda Golf Junior Team Set for North America Cup
The Bermuda Golf Association is pleased to announce the junior team that will represent Bermuda at the North America Cup in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, competing against junior teams from Mexico, Canada and Guatemala.

Sa-Qui Robinson will captain the Bermuda team, which includes:

Junior Boys

Sa-Qui Robinson, Captain
Arman Newton
Will Weston
Grayson Tavares
Ramsey Soutter
Lachlan Soutter

Bantam Boys

Max Parry
Damian Moniz
Bantam Girls
Kailia Matthews

The team will be supported by Kathleen Moniz and Gareth Tavares.

Before travelling to Mexico, the team will spend two days in Toronto for a mini training camp. This will give the players a chance to prepare together before connecting with Team Canada and travelling on to Puerto Vallarta.

A special thank you to Earl Fritz and Shayne Dysart of the Canadian Junior Golf Association, Henry Brunton and Jon Kiru for their assistance with the Toronto camp and for supporting our players during their preparation.

The North America Cup will be played over three days, with the players experiencing different formats of team golf. They will compete as individuals, pairs and as a team, accumulating points for Bermuda through head to head competition against Mexico, Canada and Guatemala.

This format gives the juniors a different experience from the individual tournament golf they play throughout the year.

The competition will be played at Vidanta Vallarta, the Greg Norman designed course that hosts the PGA TOUR’s Vidanta World Mexico Open.

We would also like to thank Xavier Villeneuve and the Mexican Junior Golf Federation for hosting Bermuda, Canada and Guatemala in Mexico this week and for bringing the four countries together for the event.

BGA President Craig Brown, “For the BGA, development trips like this are an important part of our junior golf program and human development. It is in our mandate to build better citizens through golf, and we want our junior athletes to embrace competing internationally, experiencing new cultures, golf formats, and building relationships with players and from other countries.”
