Thompson Bids Farewell as Bournemouth Exit Confirmed

IslandStats.com
AFC Bournemouth Women have officially confirmed that Bermudian international Kenni Thompson will depart the club this summer, bringing the curtain down on a trophy-laden three-year spell on the south coast.

Thompson’s departure marks the end of a highly successful chapter for both player and club. Since arriving at the Vitality Stadium, the winger has been a pivotal figure in the Cherries' rise, helping the side secure four trophies and a hard-fought promotion.

In a statement released by the club, Bournemouth expressed their "sincere thanks and best wishes" to Thompson as she prepares for the next stage of her professional career.

Taking to social media to address the fans, Thompson reflected on an "absolute pleasure" of a journey that spanned three seasons.

"This club, this town, these people. All I can say is thank you," Thompson wrote. "For letting me be part of this journey, for memories that will last a lifetime and people I’ll never forget. 3 years, 4 trophies and promotion with 'little old Bournemouth'—The Cherries are massive! Thank you for everything."

Thompson leaves behind a legacy of consistency and clinical performance that helped transform Bournemouth into a formidable force in the regional divisions. Her departure leaves a significant void in the Cherries' attacking ranks, but her contributions to the club's recent silverware haul ensure her place in Bournemouth folklore.

While her next destination remains unconfirmed, the Bermudian standout departs with her stock at an all-time high following a definitive period of growth and silverware in English football.
