A clinical display of teamwork and precision saw the quartet of George O’Brien Jr, Isaiah O’Brien, Daniel Augustus, and Marcelos Thomas crowned champions of the St. David’s Cricket Club Fundraiser Golf Tournament.
The event, held at the historic Ocean View Golf Course, brought together some of Bermuda’s most recognizable sporting figures for a day of competitive camaraderie. The winning side proved to be in a league of their own, navigating the course with remarkable efficiency to finish at 15-under par. Their scorecard earned them the top prize, including Port Royal vouchers and grocery certificates, marking a successful afternoon for the O’Brien-led contingent.
The battle for the remaining podium spots remained intense throughout the afternoon. A formidable team featuring Dwayne Pearman, Bradford Laing, Aaron James, and Donovan Livingston secured second place with a score of 13-under par. They were followed closely by the third-place finishers, Lionel Cann, Jamie Cann, Diego McCallan, and Mikus Ming, who combined for a solid round of 12-under par.
The depth of the field was further illustrated by a tie for fourth place, which was ultimately decided by retrogression. The team of Cornell Bean Sr, Cornell Bean Jr, Damon Mussenden, and Jamie Matthews took the fourth spot at 11-under par, edging out the fifth-placed side of Sammy Robinson, Terryn Fray, Damon Rabain, and Shantoine Lambert, who finished with the same score. The sixth-place honors went to the Lamb family collective, as Eddie, Jordan, and Dakota Lamb, alongside Billy Joe Pitcher, carded a round of 10-under par.
Individual accolades were also celebrated during the prize-giving ceremony. Terryn Fray showcased his accuracy by claiming the Closest to the Pin title on the seventh hole, while Mikus Ming took the honors on the ninth. Maxwell Curtis rounded out the individual winners by securing the Closest to the Pin award on the 18th hole. In the spirit of the fundraiser, the Most Honest Team award was presented to Naquan Smith, Nicori Smith, Dante Brangman, and Rai Sampson, who finished the day at two-over par.
