The domestic football season in Bermuda is hurtling toward a dramatic conclusion with silverware and survival hanging in the balance across both tiers.
In the Premier Division, a cloud of uncertainty looms over the final standings as the Bermuda Football Association has yet to rule on the unplayed fixture between Devonshire Colts and Paget Lions at the Southampton Oval. While the rest of the top flight enters the final two matchdays, the Colts and the Lions remain in a holding pattern awaiting a decision that could shift the landscape at both ends of the table.
At the summit, Dandy Town Hornets hold a three-point lead over the PHC Zebras with 37 points. The Hornets are being powered by the league’s most clinical finisher, David Jones, who leads the scoring charts with 15 goals. However, the Zebras remain in hot pursuit with 34 points, bolstered by the goal-scoring exploits of Enrique Russell.
Devonshire Colts currently sit in third with 32 points and, depending on the BFA’s ruling and their remaining fixtures, could still technically mathematically challenge the leaders. At the bottom, the Boulevard Blazers are already condemned to the drop with just six points, while Young Men Social Club face a monumental task to climb out of the danger zone.
The drama is arguably even higher in the First Division, where the season is set to conclude this weekend with a winner-takes-all showdown for the title. First-place Somerset Trojans, currently on 26 points, will travel to the PHC Stadium to face second-place Robin Hood, who trail by just a single point.
Both clubs have already secured their promotion back to the Premier Division, but the right to be crowned champions remains the ultimate prize. Robin Hood will look to the league’s standout performer, Keishen Bean, who has racked up an incredible 19 goals this campaign, while the Trojans will rely on the collective strength that has kept them at the top of the pile. With only one point separating the heavyweights, the atmosphere at the final whistle is expected to be electric as Bermuda’s golden gate for 2026 prepares to close.
