St. George’s Colts 1 North Village Rams 2 - After Extra-Time
Defending champions North Village Rams have kept their hopes of back-to-back FA Challenge Cup titles alive after a gritty 2–1 comeback victory over St. George’s Colts at the PHC Stadium.
In a semi-final that required an additional thirty minutes to separate the two sides, the Rams showcased the resilience that has defined their cup pedigree. The result sets up a highly anticipated final against the Devonshire Colts, who booked their own spot in the showpiece event following their win over PHC Zebras yesterday.
The East Enders began the afternoon with intent, unsettling the Rams' backline with high-intensity pressing. Their early dominance was rewarded in the 26th minute when Blaiz Hall found the back of the net to give the St. George’s Colts a deserved lead.
The holders struggled to find their rhythm in the opening period, as the Colts maintained their 1–0 advantage heading into the halftime interval, leaving the Rams with work to do to save their season.
The second half saw a rejuvenated North Village side take control of possession. Their persistence eventually told in the 68th minute when Knory Scott found a way through the St. George’s defense to slot home the equalizer.
Despite both sides searching for a late winner in regulation time, the match remained deadlocked at 1–1, forcing the contest into the drama of extra-time.
With fatigue beginning to set in, the decisive moment arrived in the 100th minute. Amir Dill proved to be the hero for the Rams, clinical in the box to put the holders ahead for the first time in the match.
St. George’s threw everything forward in the final stages of the second period of extra-time, but North Village held firm to secure their path to the final and a chance to defend their crown.
