FA CHALLENGE CUP SEMI-FINAL
Devonshire Colts 2 PHC Zebras 0
The floodlights of Bernard Park bore witness to a significant upset on Saturday night as Devonshire Colts secured their place in the FA Challenge Cup Final with a resolute 2–0 victory over the PHC Zebras.
In a clash defined by tactical discipline and late-game clinical finishing, the Colts managed to overcome one of the island's most formidable cup sides to move within one game of silverware.
Following a tense and goalless first half where both defenses remained largely untroubled, the match turned on a pivotal moment in the 69th minute.
The Colts were awarded a penalty after a lapse in the Zebras' box, and Jorj Dublin stepped up to coolly convert the spot-kick, sent the Devonshire supporters into a frenzy.
As the Zebras pushed forward in a desperate search for an equaliser, they were caught on the break in the 89th minute. Chemarl Henry found space to double the lead, effectively ending the contest and sparking jubilant celebrations on the Colts' bench.
PREMIER DIVISION
Boulevard Blazers 0 X-Road’s 6
While cup fever gripped Bernard Park, the Premier Division action at the Police Field saw X-Road’s deliver a ruthless performance against the already relegated Boulevard Blazers.
Donavan Thompson was the star of the show, netting a clinical hat-trick to lead his side to a 6–0 shutout. James Morrison, Kahmori Brangman, and Edivaldo Abranches each added single strikes to complete the rout in a dominant display of offensive football.
FIRST DIVISION
Somerset Trojans 0 Southampton Rangers 0
In the First Division, the Somerset Trojans have moved into a slender one-point lead at the top of the table following a hard-fought 0–0 draw with Southampton Rangers at the Somerset Cricket Club.
The result sets up a mouth-watering winner-takes-all finale to the league season. The Trojans now head into their final match against fellow promoted side Robin Hood knowing that a win or a draw will see them crowned First Division champions. For Robin Hood, the mission is simple: only a victory will be enough to leapfrog their rivals and claim the title.
Vasco 0 Somerset Eagles 3
Elsewhere in the second tier, Somerset Eagles were handed three points without kicking a ball.
Their scheduled opponents, Vasco, forfeited the match at the Police Field, marking the second consecutive weekend the side has been unable to fulfill their fixture.
The result keeps the Eagles in the hunt for a strong finish as the domestic season races toward its dramatic conclusion.
