Kaden Hopkins and Nicholas Narraway took to the course in the Elite Men’s Individual Time Trial at the 2025 Pan American Road Championships in Punta del Este, Uruguay, a day after their compatriot Charlotte Millington competed in the Junior Women's event.
Hopkins, who had previously tasted success at the Pan Am Championships with a Bronze Medal in 2022 and a fourth-place finish last year, was aiming for a return to the podium.
Meanwhile, Narraway was making his debut at the Elite level and was eager to test himself against the best time trial specialists in the region.
Both Bermudian riders put in solid efforts over the challenging course. Hopkins clocked a time of 49 minutes and 9.40 seconds, finishing in a respectable 7th place. Narraway also produced a strong ride, finishing just behind his teammate in 10th place with a time of 49 minutes and 46.76 seconds.
The Gold Medal was won by Colombia's Alejandro Vargas, who set a blistering pace to finish in 46 minutes and 48.39 seconds. His fellow Colombian, Rodrigo Contreras Pinzon, secured the silver medal with a time of 48 minutes and 45.55 seconds. The podium was completed by Brazil's Diego de Jesus Mendes, who clocked 49 minutes and 0.16 seconds to take the bronze.
While Hopkins narrowly missed out on another medal, both he and Narraway's performances in a highly competitive field demonstrate their continued progress and potential on the Pan American stage. The experience gained at this level will be invaluable as they continue their cycling careers.
