The fifth stage, a 98.3-kilometer race between Pointe-à-Pitre and Capesterre-Belle-Eau, was won by overall leader Kévin Le Cunff (Team Madras Capesterre Belle-Eau). Le Cunff clocked a time of 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 14 seconds, edging out Benjamin Le Ny (Team CAMA CCD) in a sprint finish. Le Ny finished 12 seconds behind Le Cunff. Le Cunff's victory further solidified his position in the yellow jersey as the leader of the general points classification.
Hopkins (US LAMENTIN) crossed the finish line in 14th place with a time of 2 hours, 42 minutes, and 16 seconds. He finished 2 minutes and 2 seconds behind the stage winner, Le Cunff.
Despite his efforts in Stage 5, Hopkins' combined time now stands at 14 hours, 13 minutes, and 14 seconds. He trails the overall leader, Le Cunff, by 16 minutes and 27 seconds.
The 6 Days of Crédit Agricole continues to be a demanding test for the riders, with each stage presenting new challenges and opportunities. Hopkins will continue to compete, aiming to improve his overall standing in the race.
