Despite the tournament being smaller in scale, the Cardinals showcased their quality, sweeping the competition with a 3-0 record to secure their second 7s tournament championship of the season.
The Cardinals faced a tough opening test against the host team, St. Bonaventure. However, Wheeling proved too strong, securing a convincing 25-5 victory to advance to the Semi-Finals.
Wheeling's attacking prowess continued in Game Two, where they faced regional rivals Walsh. The Cardinals maintained their winning momentum, defeating Walsh 31-5.
The tournament culminated in a final showdown that mirrored their opening match. Wheeling once again faced St. Bonaventure, and their dominant form continued, defeating the hosts 31-17 to claim the tournament championship.
