Malachi Scott and his Brock Badgers Men's Basketball teammates suffered a home defeat at the hands of TMU. The Badgers fell 92-73 to the TMU Bold at Bob Davis Gymnasium in St. Catharines.
Michael Matas led the scoring for Brock with 18 points, while Anthony Heyes contributed 11 points and eight assists. Scott played five minutes in the game but did not score.
TMU got off to a flying start, shooting an impressive 6-for-6 from the field and hitting eight three-pointers in the first quarter. This strong offensive performance gave them a 31-22 lead.
The fast-paced second quarter saw the Bold maintain their advantage, with guard Aaron Rhooms leading the charge with 21 points. TMU went into halftime with a comfortable 52-34 lead.
Despite an improved third quarter, where the Badgers outscored their opponents and had a better field-goal percentage, they still trailed 71-55 heading into the final frame.
The fourth quarter mirrored the previous ones. Every time the Badgers attempted to close the gap or gain some momentum, the Bold responded with crucial baskets, often courtesy of Rhooms, ultimately securing the win.
