Bermuda's Oliver Betschart concluded his campaign at the prestigious Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Tournament with a hard-fought T15th place finish.
Contested on the challenging Biltmore Golf Course in Florida, the tournament saw Betschart enter the final round in a promising 5th place. However, a challenging final round of 4-over par 75 saw him slip down the leaderboard.
Betschart's final round got off to a rocky start with a Double Bogey on the opening hole. Despite bouncing back with a Birdie on the fifth, further setbacks, including a Double Bogey on the eighth, saw him make the turn at 4-over par.
The back nine proved a mixed bag for the young Bermudian. A string of pars were interspersed with a Bogey on the 13th, but he finished strongly with a Birdie on the 18th.
Ultimately, the title went to Lorenzo Rodriguez of the United States, who carded a final round of 5-over par 76 to finish one stroke ahead of Switzerland's Joshua Hess.
Despite a challenging final round, Betschart's performance in a highly competitive field demonstrates his potential on the international stage. This experience will undoubtedly prove invaluable as he continues to develop his golfing career.
