Malachi Scott and his Brock Men's Basketball teammates finished off a four-game home stand with three wins in their last four games, capped off by an emphatic 90-64 win over Laurier inside the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
Second-year guard Nemanja Sarkanovic led the team in scoring with 14 points while hitting six of his ten shots from the field, and two for four from three-point range. Scott played a total of 11 minutes going 0 for 3 from the Field, but he did grab a Rebound.
Brock lit it up from beyond the arc, hitting 14 of 32 shots for a 47.5% rate.
It was all about the defense for Brock in the first half as they held Laurier to 13 points in the first quarter and 11 points in the second while putting up 45 points of their own in the same frame.
Laurier came out with more pressure in the second half but Brock continued to outscore them by a score of 19-18 in the third quarter.
Heading into the fourth quarter, Brock continued to control the game, scoring another 26 points on the back of second-year guard Davante Hackett's 10 points in the frame.
Brock made it matter where it counted as they hit 33 of 69 total shots from the field for a 47.8% clip and hit 10 of the total 11 free throws. In contrast, Laurier hit for 21 of the 55 total shots for a 38.2% rate and shot just 63.2% from the charity stripe as they hit 12 of 19.
