Recently, the Association of Pickleball Players (APP) hosted a first of its kind event, the latest in its series of signature events called the Women’s Open, presented by the James. Hosted at the Pickle & Chill facility in Columbus, Ohio, it brought together 250 women including Sarah Fox and Sue Chiappa competing for a weekend celebrating women’s players in pickleball.
In the First Round, Fox and Chiappa defeated Catherine Case and Sue Crowell 15 - 13, in Round Two Fox and Chiappa defeated Wendy Mattie and Julie Germann 15 - 6, and then in Round Three Fox and Chiappa went down 15 - 9 to Beth Sifri and Ann Porter.
In the Semi-Final, Fox and Chiappa went down to Sifri and Porter 15 - 10, and then they defeated Mattie and Germann 11-4, 11-7 to claim the Bronze Medal.
