The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Bermuda Triathlon Association Standard Distance National Championship Triathlon will occur on Sunday, October 6th , 2024, between 7:30 am and 9:30 am.
The following roads will be affected:
The triathlon commences and concludes at the carpark opposite Clearwater Beach. The participants proceed North along Cooper's Island Road until reaching the roundabout. They head West onto Southside Road and continue on Southside Road to the turnaround in the vicinity of Carter House. The participants traverse the turn to continue East on Southside Road. They proceed to the second roundabout, where they exit onto Cooper's Island Road to the finish line.
The triathlon will commence on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, at 7:30 am and is expected to conclude by 9:30 am. All motorists are expected to use caution and to avoid collisions with race participants. The race route will be under the control of Police Officers and Race Marshals. Motorists must follow the instructions from the Police Officers and Race Marshals to assist with traffic control for this event.
There will be no roads closed to traffic while the triathlon takes place. The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result. In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorized to "Close off' streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.
