The Bermuda Cricket Board has made it clear that the National Sports Center is a smoke-free facility during cricket matches. However, when the World Rugby Classic takes center stage on the same North Field, a different scenario unfolds: spectators have the ability to purchase and enjoy cigars within the stadium.
This divergence in rules has raised eyebrows and prompted questions. If rugby fans can indulge in a smoke during their matches, why shouldn’t cricket fans have the same privilege?

I have some youngsters updating my website and one has an interesting question regarding the no smoking policy at the National Sports Center.
During last year’s ICC World Cup Qualifiers, I was told, the no smoking policy was put in place as Bermuda was trying to get permission to host some of the World Cup warm-up matches, but when the World Rugby Classic took place fans were allowed to purchase and smoke cigars freely, something that is also allowed at the Port Royal Golf Course a Government facility during the Bermuda PGA Championships.
So the question is - Is it a policy of the National Sports Center or is it a Cricket Board Policy.
The same question and message is being sent to the Cricket Board for a response!
