The Ministry of Health welcomes individuals aged 50 and above to register for the Move More Bermuda Senior Games, a day of athletic fun on Sunday, May 19th, from 1 pm to 5 pm at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center. Compete in a range of Track and Field events, from the 3000m run to the 60m dash, along with the Long Jump, Shot Put, and the Mixed 4x4 Relay. It is free for spectators and there will be live entertainment.
Anyone aged 50 and older can register at register at trackie.com/event/movemorebda or collect and complete an entry form at the Ministry of Health Headquarters in the Continental Building at 25 Church Street, Hamilton. The fee is $10, and the first 100 people who register will receive a free swag bag. Free Training Sessions with De-Von Bean will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7:15 pm at the Flora Duffy South Field Stadium at the National Sports Center. The registration deadline is Friday, May 17th. Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, expressed, "This event is part of the Department of Health's 'Move More Bermuda' initiative, designed to emphasize the significance of including more physical activity into our daily routines. "I urge those aged 50 and above to seize this opportunity for fun and games. Any form of physical activity, no matter how small, contributes to overall health and vitality. I enjoyed the enthusiasm displayed at last year's games. It was exciting; everyone enjoyed themselves, the active participants, and the spectators.” Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, Tinee Furbert, added, “There is a changing attitude towards aging, with many people becoming more active. The Move More Bermuda Senior Games is a great way to promote healthy and active aging while celebrating seniors' talents and abilities in the community.” Presented by the Government of Bermuda's Department of Health, in partnership with Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) and other government and private sector organizations, the Move More Bermuda Senior games offer an opportunity for friendly competition.
