Montana closed the final 3:31 on a 10-0 run to complete a 70-67 comeback win over David Patrick and his Sacramento State Men’s Basketball team at the Nest.
In a game that saw Sacramento State lead for 26 minutes of clock, Montana overcame a late 67-60 deficit. Sacramento State missed their last six shots from the field, and did not score the final 3:49. After Duncan Powell split a pair of free throws to put Sacramento State up, 67-60, Montana converted four of its last five field goal attempts, which included a huge 3-ball from Thomas Dischon with 24 seconds remaining.
That was Dischon's first triple of the night, and gave Montana their first lead (69-67) since the 10:44 mark. In fact, Montana led for just 1:31 of the second half. Sacramento State missed a 3-pointer on their next possession, and Montana split a pair of free throws with 2.2 seconds left. Trailing by three, Sacramento State drew up an inbounds play that gave sharp shooter Austin Patterson a clean look at a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but his shot was off the mark.
