Zee Hamoda's acrobatic, twisting 10-footer with 0.2 seconds left delivered David Patrick’s Sacramento State a 66-64 win over Idaho State at the Nest.
Hamoda's game-winner capped an incredibly close game that featured 16 lead changes, the nineties, and neither team leading by more than seven points. Both teams had a 7-0 run in the second half, including Idaho State overcoming a 64-57 deficit to tie the game at 64-64 with 12 seconds left.
That set the stage for Hamoda, who dribbled up top while grinding the clock down. With about three seconds left, Hamoda drove to the right side of the lane where he jumped off his left leg, and buried a running floater from 10 feet with 0.2 seconds left. The game-winner capped an incredible performance from Hamoda, who had 15 points in the second half on 6-for-6 shooting. He scored each of the Hornets' final six points and eight of the last 10.
Hamoda finished with a game-high 17 points on a very proficient line of 7-8 FG, 1-1 3FG and 2-3 FT. It was Hamoda who scored four points in the final 17 seconds of Thursday's 71-69 win over Weber State, as the junior guard has made a habit of coming through in the clutch. That included the dagger 3-pointer with 11 seconds left in a road win earlier this year at UC Davis.
