The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Bermuda Triathlon Association/Cambridge Beaches Road Race will take place on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 between the hours of 7:30 am and 9:30 am and the following roads will be affected.
Starting at the car park of Somerset Long Bay cyclists will travel out of Daniel's Head Road to the junction with Cambridge Road. Then they will turn left onto Cambridge Road and proceed north-east to Mangrove Bay Road junction where they will turn right. Cyclists will proceed south on Mangrove Bay Road to the junction of Somerset Road where they will take a left turn and proceed in an easterly direction on Mangrove Bay Road across Watford Bridge where the road becomes Malabar Road which they will continue in a north-easterly direction where the same road becomes Cockburn Road.
Young junior cyclists will reach a turnaround point on Cockburn Road next to the Pelican crossing and will return the same way back to Somerset Long Bay car park. Adult cyclists will continue in a north-easterly direction onto Ireland Island North where the road becomes Pender Road. Cyclists continue into Dockyard on Pender Road and will proceed around Dockyard on the roads of Smithery Lane, Camber Road, Maritime Lane before returning on Camber Road, Smithery Lane, and Pender Road.
Cyclists will exit out of Dockyard by taking a left off Pender Road onto the lower road of Freeport Drive. Cyclists will take a left at the junction of Freeport Drive and Pender Road and proceed in a south-westerly direction on Pender Road to Cockburn Road and to Malabar Road and across Watford Bridge. Older junior cyclists will return in a southwesterly direction to the car park of Somerset Long Bay using the same outbound route whereas adult cyclists will turn around at the bus stop on Mangrove Bay (western side of Watford Bridge) before returning to Dockyard for a second lap and then returning to Somerset Long Bay car park using the same outbound route.
The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 at 7:30 am and is expected to be concluded by 9:30 am.
There will be no road closures. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collusion with race participants. The race route will be under Police and Race Officials. Motorists are asked to follow Police and Race Officials instructions to assist with traffic control for this event.
Parking will not be permitted on the southern side of Watford Bridge parking lot bus turnaround area. Otherwise, there will be no parking restriction for this bicycle race and motorists are permitted to park in designated parking bays along any part of the race route. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in the bicycle race.
Marshals and Police representatives will be placed along the routes to direct traffic.

In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorized to "Close-Off' streets or portions of streets and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.
