The Whitney Institute Middle School won the Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Girls Basketball Tournament.
They capped off an undefeated season with a 23-16 victory over Mount Saint Agnes Academy. Kalila Daley led all scorers with 19 points and was named MVP for Whitney, while T'Mia Williams scored 10 for MSA and was named MVP for her school.
Warwick Academy pulled away from Saltus Grammar School to win 17-13 in the Middle School Boys Championship. Warwick was led by MVP Zachary Moniz with six points and Jordon Marsh with 4. Saezjhour Dent and Romari Ruddock each scored 5 points for Saltus with William Weston named MVP.
Mount Saint Agnes Academy defeated Saltus Grammar School 30-20 in the Senior School Junior Varsity Final. MVP Rylan Cundliffe led Mount Saint Agnes with 13 points while Jacob Hines chipped in 8 points. Saltus was led by MVP Tristen Currelly who scored 12, Phoenix Bowers added 5 points for the Knights.
Warwick Academy needed a late surge to finally get past CedarBridge Academy in the Senior Varsity Girls Final. Adriana Argent led Warwick with 15 points and was named MVP for Warwick. Samara Darrell added 8 points for the champions. MVP Samiyah Burgess led the runners up with 10 points.
CederBridge Academy defeated Mount Saint Agnes in the Varsity Boys Final 46-37. CedarBridge led throughout the game but MSA fought to get within 4 points late in the game before some clutch shooting by game MVP Kallan Todd sealed the game for CedarBridge. Todd scored 7 points in the final few minutes to bring his game total to 15 points and seal the game. Szaine Williams added 12 for the winners with Odari Hudson scoring 8. Mount Saint Agnes MVP was Jacinto Saints who scored 16 points. Rylan Cundliffe scored 6 for the runners up.
