Northern Arizona jumped out to an 11-2 lead and never looked back, on the way to a 77-55 victory over David Patrick’s Sacramento State on Thursday evening at the Walkup Skydome.
Over half Northern Arizona made field goals were from long range, as they shot 56% (15-27) from deep. That included 7-for-15 in the first half when Northern Arizona raced out a 43-22 halftime lead, and 8-for-12 in the second half. Leading the charge was Jalen Cone who scored 25 points on 9-for-15 from the field, and 7-of-10 from long range.
Northern Arizona led by double figures in the final 25:42 of the contest, as Sacramento State could not overcome Northern Arizona’s hot shooting from deep. Sacramento State held advantages over Northern Arizona in points in the paint (30-22), second chance points (13-6), and bench points (29-13).
