Eastern Washington shot 71% (17-of-24) in the second half and outscored David Patrick’s Sacramento State after halftime, 48-28, on the way to an 82-63 victory in front of a sellout crowd at the Nest.
It was a game of runs as Eastern Washington opened on a 30-11 run, before Sacramento State closed the final 7:15 on a 24-4 spurt to go into halftime with a 35-34 advantage. However, it was all Eastern Washington in the second half which included a 20-4 run that gave Eastern Washington a 60-45 lead with 7:56 to play. Eastern Washington led by at least 11 points the rest of the way.
The Eastern Washington win came despite a dominating Sacramento State effort on the glass. Sacramento State outrebounded Eastern Washington, 37-20, and had a season-best 22 offensive rebounds. Sacramento State held a 22-7 advantage in second chance points, but it was not enough to overcome Eastern Washington's hot shooting.
