Bermuda's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Ayoola Oyinloye joined www.islandstats.com to discuss the issue on the denial of members of the Bermuda Men’s National Football team traveling for World Cup Qualifiers.
Bermuda National coach Kyle Lightbourne, back in March expressed his frustration with the office of the CMO in denying him and some of his players boarding a flight to compete.
It was www.islandstats.com that broke the story of interviewing Lightbourne on the matter back in March, Lightbourne said, “The CMO has a lot to answer for, I’ve been quarantining since March 8th, they basically detained the whole team. It has been so frustrating what we have been through. ”
“I feel fine; no symptoms. I’m just totally frustrated with the protocols and the enforcement of them. I have had a total of seven tests, and tested positive on my fifth one. The next two were negative,” concluded Lightbourne.
This evening Dr. Oyinloye gave his accounts of the situation in detail, saying he was protecting Bermuda, “I don’t have a personal vendetta against football. ”
