The National Sports Center announced that the facility will be closing to the public as of 3pm Thursday, March 19th in coordination with the Government’s efforts to reduce transmission of COVID-19.
The statement read’s, “At this time, we do not have a specific date for reopening. We will be following advice from the Government and will reopen only when it is deemed safe to do so.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but the health and safety of employees, members and visitors to the site are of utmost importance to us.”
To that end sports already postponed at the Sports Center include CARIFTA, the Kappa Classic, Bermuda Football Association Youth Knock Out, Bermuda Football Association FA Challenge Cup Final, Interschool Sports, Bermuda Rugby Football Union’s vs Old Blue and the Skyport Magic Mile.
The statement concludes, “We have also informed groups (smaller than 50) that we will keep them abreast of any changes to our operation that may affect their reservations.”
